Insta Competition - #ShithappensSaltHappensNZ - TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Promoter
The promoter is Desalt NZ Ltd (“the Promoter”).
This competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Meta.

2. Eligibility
• Open to New Zealand residents only.
• Entrants must be 18+ years old.
• Employees, contractors or immediate family of the Promoter may enter but cannot win prizes.

3. Competition Period
The promotion runs for 8 weeks, from:
• Start: 8th December 2025
• End: 31st January 2026
Entries must be posted by 11:59pm NZT on the closing date.

4. How to Enter
Entrants must:
1. Post a photo or video to Instagram showing a boating, fishing, jet ski or “shit happens/salt happens” moment.
2. Tag @desaltnewzealand
3. Use the hashtag #ShitHappensSaltHappensNZ.
4. Have a public Instagram profile at time of entry and judging.
Multiple entries are allowed.
Instagram Stories do not count unless posted to the main feed.

5. Prizes
Grand Prize
• 1x Weber 57cm Master Touch Kettle Burnt Orange valued at $900 NZD with kettle cover.
Fortnightly Prize Packs
• 4x prize packs, which include Kai Cooler 700 Insulated Fish Catch Bag, Kai Cooler 900m Fish Ruler, Telescopic Boat Hook, Hutch Wilco Classic 170N inflatable Navy Lifejacket, 1 x 5 litre Desalt. Each pack is worth at Retail, valued at $500+ NZD.
General Prize Conditions
• Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and not redeemable for cash.
• The Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if required.

6. Judging & Winner Selection
This is a game of skill, not chance.
Entries will be judged on:
• Creativity
• Humour
• Entertainment value
• Relevance to the competition theme
Winner Selection Timing
• Fortnightly prize winners: End of weeks 20 December, 3 January 2026, 17 January 2026 and 31 January 2026. Each winner is selected within 2 days of the prize cut-off.
• Grand prize winner: Selected within 7 days of the competition closing, 31 January 2026.
Judging is done by the promoter, and decisions are final.

7. Winner Notification
Winners will be contacted via Instagram DM from the @desaltnewzealand account.
Winners must respond within 7 days to claim their prize.
If a winner does not respond, the Promoter may select an alternative winner.

8. Content Rights & Usage
By entering, participants:
• Grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free worldwide licence to use submitted content (photo/video) for marketing, promotional and social media purposes.
• Confirm they created the content and own all rights to it.
• Confirm that anyone featured in the content has consented to its use.

9. Acceptable Content Requirements
To remain eligible:
• Entries must be original photos or videos captured by the entrant.
• AI-generated images, AI-generated videos, or content significantly modified using AI tools are not permitted.
• Entrants may use standard editing tools (cropping, colour correction, filters), but altering the content using AI to add/remove objects, faces, backgrounds, or generate scenes is not allowed.
Disallowed Content:
Entries must not contain:
• AI-generated or AI-altered imagery (beyond basic edits)
• Dangerous or illegal activity
• Abuse, harassment or discrimination
• Offensive material
• Anything breaching Instagram’s guidelines
The Promoter may remove or disqualify any entry that violates these terms.

10. Privacy
The Promoter will collect and use personal information solely to administer the competition and deliver prizes.
Information will not be sold or shared with third parties.
Winners may be asked to provide delivery details.

11. General Conditions
• The Promoter may amend, suspend, or cancel the competition at any time.
• The Promoter is not responsible for technical issues, lost entries, or incorrect tagging.
• By entering, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions fully.

To the extent permitted by NZ law:
• The Promoter is not liable for any loss, injury, damage or claim arising from the competition or prizes.
• Entrants release Instagram/Meta from all liability related to the promotion.
